The only Center of Excellence in Romania for complex endometriosis

Memorial Băneasa Hospital, part of the Memorial Healthcare Group, has received official accreditation from the international organization Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), becoming the only Center of Excellence in Romania in the treatment of complex forms of endometriosis. The distinction places the medical unit among the top centers in the world specializing in this pathology.

The SRC accreditation certifies that patients with endometriosis receive care at the highest international standards, through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach. The evaluation process, carried out over several months, included a rigorous verification of medical protocols, equipment and the skills of the medical team.

This recognition was granted to the team coordinated by Prof. Dr. Elvira Brătilă, primary physician in obstetrics-gynecology and specialist in minimally invasive pelvic surgery and robotics, and Dr. Rubin Munteanu, primary physician in general surgery, expert in minimally invasive surgery for complex cases of endometriosis.

“Obtaining the Master Surgeon accreditation in the treatment of complex forms of endometriosis signifies our ongoing commitment to providing the safest and most effective treatments for our patients. This accreditation program not only recognizes the excellence of our team, but also contributes to the continuous improvement of standards of care in the field of endometriosis.”, said Prof. Dr. Elvira Brătilă, chief physician of obstetrics and gynecology at the Baneasa Memorial Hospital and specialist in minimally invasive pelvic surgery and robotics for endometriosis.

For his part, Dr. Rubin Munteanu emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration: “Our commitment to this process was essential to achieve the highest standards in surgical treatments for complex endometriosis. We want to improve the health of our patients and provide personalized solutions in the management of this condition.”

Prof. Dr. Elvira Brătilă is the initiator of the National Endometriosis Program and one of the pioneers of robotic surgery in Romania, through the implementation of DaVinci technology. At Memorial Hospital Băneasa, patients can benefit from minimally invasive interventions partially reimbursed by CNAS, based on this program.

With over 20 years of experience and over 6,000 surgical interventions, Dr. Rubin Munteanu is recognized for his expertise in the treatment of endometriosis, as well as in bariatric, colorectal and parietal defect surgery, through laparoscopic and robotic techniques.

“The SRC accreditation proves the Memorial Group’s commitment to increasing the quality of medical care by putting the patient at the center of our concerns. It is an exceptional achievement of the professionals working at the hospital, reflecting the group’s fundamental values: compliance with the highest ethical standards, care for employees and commitment to patient satisfaction. This accreditation is a guarantee of safety and trust for patients who choose Memorial.”, stated Adrian Lungu, CEO of Memorial Romania.
